According to the state of affairs on
January 1, 2001 the fund of natural preserves of Donetsk region includes
108 units with the total area of 76067,22 hectares which comprise 2,86% of the
region's territory (for comparison, the percentage of natural preserves'
territory in the entire Ukraine equals to 4,496). 18 units being of all-state
significance and 90 ones of local significance have been created in the
region, 7 of them being the independent organizations of nature preserving
fund both of all-state and local significance.
In 2001 another two objects of
nature-preserving fund were created:
- the Krasnogorovsky landscape park of local significance on the reserve
lands of the Krasnogorovsky city council in Mariinsky district, on the area of
15, 43 hectares;
- the ornithological natural park of local significance Priozerny
in the city of Slavyansk, on the reserve lands of the city council having the
area of 150 hectares.
In June 2001 the sitting of the Collegium of
the State Board of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Donetsk Region took
place on the topic of The state of nature-preserving fund and events
aiming at formation of regional ecological network in the Donetsk region.
The Collegium approved of urgent events for realization of the all-state
program of formation of the national ecological network for the years
2001-2005, as well as the list of natural areas having good prospects for
urgent creation on them the objects of nature-preserving fund in the period of
2001-2006.
The State Board of Ecology and Natural
Resources of the Donetsk Region considers the main tasks for the year 2002 to
be:
- provision of further growth of the area of the nature-preserving fund;
- controlling the protection and usage of nature-preserving fund;
realization of events on protection of the nature-preserving fund in the course
of the land reform;
- organizing of realization of complex events on formation of the ecological
network.
