According to its geographical location Donetsk
region belongs to central steppe. The climate of the region is a continental
one with some casual hot dry phenomena. Wind masses, coming from the Asian
continent and Lower Volga steppes, cause low temperatures in winter, with winds
being cold in winter and dry hot ones in autumn and summer.
Donetsk region is one of the Ukrainian regions
having the least natural water supplies. The water supply from the local
natural river flow per each inhabitant of the region (190 cub. m.) is 5 times
less than an average level in Ukraine.
