Donetsk Regional Educational and Methodic Center of Culture is a multiprofile institution having a universal opportunity to hold studying processes, information and research activities as well as cultural and artistic ones using the achievements of the institutions of culture and arts of the Donetsk region.

The center of culture provides for effective functioning of the network of clubs without taking into consideration their departmental subordination, 7 colleges of culture and arts, 108 schools of esthetic education, 7 000 of amateur groups and associations. Annually about 350 professionals of the sphere of culture raise their qualification in the groups of problematic-differential studies; over 760 professionals have got individual consultations in the framework of the program of self-education; nearly 200 raise their professional level at the regional seminars held by the specialists of the center.

In the region, according to the initiative of the center of culture, the broad program of modernization of cultural entertaining sphere is held as well as the introduction of market relations between the sphere of culture and subjects of commercial activities - and new models of governing cultural institutions and development of people's creativity.

The system of organization of educational events is a diverse one including "master-classes", creative laboratories, councils, studying in the special problem groups at full-time studies department, "field studies" in the districts of the region, participation in seminars and workshops, trainings, etc.

In organization of work of the groups both lectures and practical classes are employed as well as spreading the experience of the best institutions of culture, creative and amateur groups, certain professionals.

The important role in raising the qualification of professionals of culture belongs to the active forms of studies: business and role games, round tables, trainings, attendance of cultural institutions, demonstration events, creative groups, open lessons, master-classes, etc.

The level of lecturers of the center is very high though they work as part-time staff. Among the staff workers there are 5 Professors, 5 Assistant Professors and Candidates of Science, professionals working in the prominent cultural institutions.
